From February 1 to 8, 2025, Hautes fréquences, a mini-festival dedicated to street dances and hip-hop culture, will be touring Gaspésie. Audiences will have the chance to meet in person Sovann Rochon-Prom Tep, the high-caliber breaker who appeared on the TV show Révolution this fall. He’ll be joined by Carlos-Alexis ‘DOZA’ Mendoza and Marie-Reine ‘MQueen’ Kabasha, two street dance artists with explosive energy. On the program: dance workshops for all levels, performances, collective jams and DJ sets!

The Hautes fréquences stop in Gaspé is also part of the Centre de Création Diffusion de Gaspé’s La semaine de la danse (unveiling January 2025), in collaboration with the École de danse de Gaspé. What a joy it is to see that dance can be so abundant in the middle of winter in Gaspé!
Artists
Marie-Reine ‘MQueen’ Kabasha
Marie-Reine Kabasha, also known as MQueen, is a multidisciplinary artist active in the Montreal dance scene since 2013. She has had the opportunity to work with creators with a refined and versatile artistic language, many of whom are leading figures in street dance in Montreal as well as internationally. Notably, with EBNFLOH, Tentacle Tribe and Ma Dame Paris. More recently, she has been working with Brigitte Poupart, Grand Poney, Sébastien Provencher, Helen Simard and Caroline Laurin-Beaucage. At the same time, she has a growing interest in research and creation. Since 2019, she has been working on her own artistic language via a research project named “Trigger Point”. Carlos-Alexis ‘DOZA’ Mendoza
Carlos-Alexis Mendoza, aka DOZA, is a passionate multidisciplinary dancer who has specialized in electro dance since childhood. Born in Montreal of Peruvian parents, he has traveled to France, Spain and throughout South America to compete and exchange with other electro dance specialists. He has won several national and international competitions and is involved in transmitting this dance style through teaching and event organization. His expertise in this style and his thirst to deepen his knowledge of dance led him to pursue his studies at the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal. Sovann ‘Promo’ Rochon-Prom Tep
Prolific choreographer and dancer Sovann Rochon-Prom Tep, aka Promo, is a multi-talented artist. He has been breaking since a very young age, and takes part as a dancer and judge in numerous competitions around the world. Also trained in contemporary dance, he has danced for companies such as Animals of Distinction and RUBBERBAND. In 2022, he won the Canada Canada Council for the Arts’ Jacqueline-Lemieux prize for his remarkable contribution to dance in Canada.
